Flagship Store Düsseldorf - on course for success

Flagship Store Düsseldorf - on course for success

The designer of this important flagship, the New York architect Richard Meier, is also a Pritzker prizewinner and is among the international elite of modern architecture. “The most important thing is the light”, he says.
His building in Düsseldorf corresponds to this principle. It is a giant, curved shop window reaching from the pavement to the top floor. A large white frame in front of the façade underlines the idea of a shop window. “We wanted to create a building that communicates a strong corporate image and we tried to achieve that by using light, space and transparency”, Richard Meier explains and invites Düsseldorf to the great “window shopping event”. Like all buildings by Richard Meier, the store in Düsseldorf is clad in white. White is the colour of light.
A timeless flagship store for the occasion of the centenary. A modern classic.
