Peek & Cloppenburg starts with "catalogue selling": for the first time the company posts illustrated price indices that provide an overview over the current assortment.

1901
In 1901, James Cloppenburg opens the first store in Berlin's Gertraudtenstraße/Roßstraße. At the same time, the first Düsseldorf store in Schadowstraße 30 is inaugurated. A novelty: Peek & Cloppenburg introduces the unitary size-system in men's clothing.
