Peek & Cloppenburg* is established and opens the first store for boys and mens clothing in Düsseldorf’s Schadowstraße.

Opening of a second clothing store in Berlin.
Launch of the first standardised system of sizes for men’s clothing.

The launch of a “mail order business”. For the first time, P&C* issues illustrated price lists with an overview of the latest product range.
With the official founding of the company in May, two independent companies with headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg are established.
The 1920’s
During the economic boom, P&C* provides elegant fashion to the residents of Düsseldorf and Berlin.
With a distinctive insignia, P&C* creates its own logo.
The 1930's
1936
Product range extended to include women’s clothing. P&C* becomes the first full range provider for the whole family.
The 1940's
1945
Reconstruction phase. Not a single P&C* store survives the war
The 1950's
1950-60
Expansion and opening of new stores in Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Essen.
The 1970's
P&C* are one of the first companies to implement an inventory control system.
The 1980's
1988
Since the construction of its first flagship store in Frankfurt, P&C* uses world-class architectural designs in its major stores.
1989
Establishment of ANSON’S Herrenhaus GmbH & Co. KG and the opening of the first store.
The 1990's
1998
Expansion into Austria and the opening of the first two Austrian stores in Vienna and Vösendorf.
Around 2000
2001
P&C* launches the customer card scheme in Germany and Austria.
In the 2000s, P&C succeeded in expanding into Eastern Europe. As a result of which Peek & Cloppenburg* B.V. & Co. KG, Vienna was founded in 2008 that is still responsible for the stores in Austria and Eastern Europe today.
Around 2010
In 2013, the first online store "FashionID.de" in Germany was launched - later available at peek-cloppenburg.de. Further country stores follow in Austria, Poland and the Netherlands in the following years. Also, ansons.de is going online.
International Brands Company GmbH & Co. KG (IBC) was founded in 2014 and is responsible for all activities in connection with the company's own brands.

Launch of the webshop of the subsidiary ANSON'S Herrenhaus GmbH & Co. KG at ansons.de and start of P&C* online sales in the Netherlands at peek-cloppenburg.nl.
